About these terms
These terms apply to the Legend of the DEV mobile game for iOS and Android (“the game”). The game is provided by me, Szigeti Balázs, a sole proprietor registered in Hungary. My details are in the legal notice.
By downloading or playing the game you accept these terms. The terms of the store you downloaded it from (App Store or Google Play) also apply. How I handle data is described in the Privacy Policy.
Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have as a consumer under the mandatory law of the country where you live.
Your license to play
I give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable license to install the game on devices you own or control, and to play it for your own non-commercial use. The game, including its code, graphics, sounds, texts, names and characters, belongs to me or my licensors and is protected by copyright. These terms do not give you any rights to it beyond this license.
Please do not:
- sell, redistribute, copy, modify or reverse engineer the game, except where the law expressly allows it,
- cheat, use bots, modify the save, or change your phone’s clock to gain an advantage,
- exploit bugs to gain an advantage (please report them to me instead),
- interfere with the purchase, reward or cloud save systems.
If you break these rules, I may refuse to credit rewards or purchases obtained this way, and I may end your license.
Account and cloud save
The game can be played without an account. If you sign in with a Google or Apple account, your progress is also stored on my server and you can continue on another phone.
- You are responsible for the account you sign in with. Do not share it with others.
- You can delete your account and your cloud save in the game at any time (Settings, Account and cloud save, Delete account). Your progress on the phone stays.
- Without signing in, your progress is stored only on your phone. If you delete the game or lose your phone, it may be lost and I cannot restore it.
Virtual items and purchases
The game contains virtual items and currencies, such as bits, gems, objects and cosmetics. You can earn them by playing. With real money you can buy in-game currency, which you then spend in the game.
- What you get is a license to use them in the game. They have no monetary value, they cannot be exchanged for real money, and they cannot be transferred to another person.
- I may adjust prices, rewards and the game balance in updates. I will not take away virtual currency or items you already have, except to correct an obvious error or in case of abuse.
- The currency you bought, and everything you got for it, is part of your progress. With cloud save it can move to another phone; without signing in it may be lost with the phone’s data, and the store does not restore it.
Purchases. Purchases are made through the App Store or Google Play. The price is shown in your local currency before you confirm. Payment, receipts and refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their terms (App Store, Google Play). If you paid but did not receive what you bought, write to me with the order number (see Support) and I will sort it out.
Right of withdrawal. If you are a consumer in the EU, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract. For digital content delivered immediately, this right ends when the content is delivered, provided you agreed to immediate delivery and acknowledged that you lose the right of withdrawal. Virtual items are credited right after the purchase. Your rights if the item is not delivered or does not work as described are not affected.
Reward videos. You can choose to watch a short video ad to earn an in-game reward. The reward is given only when the video was completed. Some rewards need a signed-in account, because the server confirms the video you watched. Daily limits apply, and a video may not always be available, for example without an internet connection.
Updates and liability
I may update, change or stop parts of the game, and some updates may be needed to keep playing. I do not guarantee that the game, cloud save and downloadable content will always be available or free of errors, but I will fix problems I am aware of within a reasonable time.
I provide the game as it is, to the extent the law allows. I am not liable for indirect losses or for losses caused by events outside my reasonable control. This does not limit my liability for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, for harm to life, body or health, or any liability that cannot be limited by law. Your statutory rights as a consumer, including the rights if digital content does not conform to the contract, remain unaffected.
Complaints and disputes
If something goes wrong, please write to me first at code@legendofthedev.com. I answer complaints within 30 days.
If you are a consumer and we cannot settle a dispute, you can turn to the conciliation board (békéltető testület) of your place of residence. For my registered address this is the Budapesti Békéltető Testület (1016 Budapest, Krisztina krt. 99. I. em. 111., postal address: 1253 Budapest, Pf. 10., phone: +36 1 488 2131, bekeltet.bkik.hu). Consumers in other EU countries can turn to their national consumer bodies or the European Consumer Centres Network.
These terms are governed by Hungarian law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings in the courts there.
Changes to these terms
I may update these terms, for example when I add new features. I will update the date at the top and point out important changes in the game or in the update notes. If you do not agree with the new terms, you can stop playing and delete the game.
